TRAVEL & LODGING

NEW - Hotel rate has been extended to September 16.

Where to Go!!

4 state logoThe city of Rogers is located in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas, a premier destination for leisure travel. Since 1881 when it became a railroad town for the Frisco Railroad, Rogers has developed into an alluring city. With all the benefits of a modern metro area, Rogers' hometown charm and natural Ozarks ambience remain.

There's an old folk saying about the Ozark Mountains: "It's not that the mountains are so high, it's just that the valleys are so deep." The Ozarks are a heavily eroded plateau, pushed up eons ago and carved out by hundreds of streams over thousands of years. Nature worked wonders, and today the diversity of these highlands is endless.

Some of the most scenic rivers and majestic lakes in America are in the Ozarks. World-class fishing is close to Rogers with trout from the White River and bass and panfish from the 28,000-acre Beaver Lake. Boating, canoeing, and swimming are also available at Beaver Lake as well as near-by state parks. Or float America's first National River - the Buffalo National River in the Buffalo National River Wilderness Area.

Include a day or two to explore the rich heritage of the hill country. Plan a leisurely walk along a trickling stream or a hike on an award-winning trail. Take time to tour the museums, historic homes, formal gardens, or Civil War parks. Sing along at an informal mountain hoedown or visit a craftsman at work at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View. Explore an historic Victorian town, Eureka Springs, with its many unique homes, hotels, shops, and attractions. Golf the pristine courses. View the wonders of the caverns.

The Bikes, Blues & BBQ rally will be in Fayetteville Sept. 23-26. The rally brings the best national, regional, and local Blues acts together and some of the top BBQ teams from around the world for the KCBS Barbeque Cook-off and the Arkansas State BBQ Championship.
