The Mission of the Miami Public Library is:

• to serve the community of Miami and surrounding area with an appropriate emphasis on both children and adults;
  
  
• to meet the needs of the public as a High-Interest Materials Library and to serve as a Knowledge Center;
  
  
• to keep the staff well-trained and service-oriented;

thus meeting the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community and making lifelong opportunities available to all.
