Outlook 2000
Select Tools then Accounts
.
Next, click the Add button.

Next, enter your name as you want it to appear on the email you send (i.e. Gary Smith, John Jones). Then click the Next button.

Next, enter your email address (username@domain.name). Then click the Next button.

Now you will be prompted for the server setting. Make sure POP3 is selected as the mail server type. Enter the mail server name you have received. If your organization has a domain name, the server's name would be mailhost.domain.name. If you are a OneNet dialup account, then enter mailhost.onenet.net.

The next page will prompt you for the username and password. You will want to enter the username and password as assigned to you by the mail administrator. If you have questions what it is, please contact your local administrator.
If you are a OneNet dialup account, the username will be the login ID assigned to you by OneNet. The password will the one you selected.
If you wish to have your mail client remember your password, select the Remember password box otherwise, you will be prompted to enter when you open your email client.

You will need to select the appropriate selection for your connection on the next screen. If your organization has a dedicated network connection, you will want to choose Connect using my local area network (LAN).
If you are connecting via a dialup connection, you must choose Connect using my phone line or I will establish my Internet connection manually.

Click Next and Finish.

Select Tools then Accounts

Click the Mail tab then the Add button. Select Mail.

You will then receive the Congratulations dialog. Click Finish.

The Internet Accounts box will be displayed and you will have a service added with the name of the mailserver you added. You can rename this into a friendly name by double clicking on it and changing the name on the General tab. Then click OK button then Close.
