A WEEKEND OF BULGARIAN DANCES

TEACHER: Yuliyan Yordanov is originally from Lovech, Bulgaria. Yuliyan graduated from the Academy of Music and Dance Art in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. His training qualified him as a dance director, choreographer and Bulgarian folk dance instructor. Prior to graduation, he worked as a choreographer, teacher and coach for youth dance groups and ensembles in the city of Lovech, Bulgaria. Yuliyan and his students participated in many concerts, celebrations, and international festivals throughout Bulgaria and the rest of Europe. In 1997 he was invited to attend the traditional annual party for teachers of folklore and culture hosted by the President of Bulgaria. Yuliyan currently lives in the Midwest and has taught at numerous camps around the United States.

CAMP FACILITIES: The camp, located on the Oklahoma side of Lake Texoma about 2½ hours from Oklahoma City and Dallas, has a wooden dance floor, scenic views, and dorm-style heated cabins. Each cabin has a shared bathroom with electric outlets. Food and refreshments are provided. Bring your own bed and bath linens, toilet items, and pillows.

FOLK DANCE PARTY: Saturday night will feature a Bulgarian dance party with some live music sets. Come dressed in traditional or ethnic costume. A musicians’ workshop is held 4:30 – 5:30 on Saturday. Bring an instrument!

SCHOLARSHIPS: One full and one partial scholarship will be available this year. The partial scholarship will provide $50.00 towards the total cost. These will be awarded confidentially and according to need. Please check below. Appli-
